New U.S. single-family home sales fell to near a one-year low in September after two straight months of gains, suggesting a temporary cooling in the market for new houses.

In the D-FW area builders can not meet demand! The simply do not have enough subs to build the houses. Last month buyers camped out overnight at a subdivision to be the first in line to purchase lots in a new phase.
