Dallas Area Residential Sales Report for May - Garland TX

Well, the sales numbers were not great in Garland for May. Sales fell 3% as compared to last May. Pending sales really took a dive off 17%. The average sales price increases 12% while the median sales price rose 13%.  At least some of the decline in sales can be attributed to the severe shortage on inventory. buyers are just having a hard time finding a home that fits their lifestyle. There was a little relief in the inventory with an increase of 5% in the number of new listings and a 28% jump in the active listings. Unfortunately, if you are a buyer, these increases only took the months of inventory to 1.2 months. It's a sellers market in Garland!
